Revealed! Why Chopper carrying government spokes person made an emergency landing!

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura disclosed on Wednesday, May 8, that a helicopter transporting him and Kenya Red Cross officials had to make an emergency landing while en route from Kisumu.

In a statement, he explained that the pilot opted to land in Kikuyu, Kiambu County, due to safety considerations for everyone aboard.

Mwaura highlighted that adverse weather conditions, impacting visibility, rendered it unsafe to proceed with the journey.

He assured that all passengers were unharmed during the incident.

Expressing gratitude for their safety, Mwaura extended thanks to both the Almighty and the public for their concern.

“I am safe fellow Kenyans. Our plane had to make an emergency landing in Gishungo, Kikuyu Constituency due to poor weather conditions.

“Idriss Ahmed the Secretary General of the Kenya Redcross and I had gone to Nyando in Kisumu to deliver relief of Non-Food Items (NFIs) to the Floods Affected Persons (FAPs). We arrived home safely and we thank God for this,” he stated.

Mwaura’s comments came in response to reports circulating about the incident involving the helicopter transporting them from Kisumu, where they had been assessing the recent flooding.

Concerns arose among Kenyans due to recent incidents involving aircraft. In a recent tragic event in Elegeyo Marakwet, former Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla and other senior military officials lost their lives in a helicopter incident.

The ongoing investigation into the Elegeyo Marakwet incident is expected to yield a report in the coming months. More
