Shocking reason why Sabina Chege was ejected from Azimio national assembly leadership position!

Azimio la Umoja one Kenya coalition has ejected former Murang’a women rep Sabina Chege from her position as the national assembly minority whip.

The coalition resolved to eject her after holding a parliamentary group meeting at Stoni athi in Machakos county on Thursday 6th of April.

The coalition did not however name Chege’s replacement, but according to reports, Samburu west member of parliament Naisula Lesuuda might take over the role.

The nominated senator has recently been attacked by Azimio brigades after showing support for president William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

Sabina Chege was among the 30 jubilee members of parliament who visited the state house on 8tg February 2023.

This this comes hours after Azimio leader Raila Odinga proposed that the 2010 constitution be reviewed.

Adding that the law should be changed to allow members of parliament who switched political parties after election to be required to resign and seek fresh mandate from the electorate.

“We recommend changes in the law that will instill party discipline by requiring MPs who cross party lines after the elections to seek a fresh mandate from the electorate and to allow parties to replace nominated MPs who cross party lines,” Raila recommended. More
