Raila Odinga new message to President Ruto minutes after nation address!

At a rally in Embakasi South, Nairobi, Azimio Chief Principal Raila Odinga criticized President William Ruto’s recent directive to demolish structures in Mukuru Kwa Ruben.

Raila called upon the head of state to reconsider his decision, emphasizing the need for the government to prioritize providing housing for the residents before carrying out any evictions.

He labeled Ruto’s orders as unethical, advocating for a more compassionate approach towards addressing the housing needs of the affected community.

“And I want to say today, these people should not demolition the houses in the Mukuru kwa Njenga, let them not destroy any house,” Raila said.

The Azimio leader pledged to stand against the government’s plan to demolish houses in the Mukuru areas, asserting that it goes against the wishes of the people.

Raila criticized the government for its perceived lack of humanity in its decision to evict the residents, suggesting that alternative measures could have been implemented to address the situation before resorting to evictions.

“First build good homes before coming to destroy the houses, Kenyans are not animals, you must possess humanity.

“If they come with force, we are the force and we know how to apply force and we will come together so we can die with you,” the Azimio chief claimed.

Odinga additionally called upon the head of state to promptly declare the ongoing flooding crisis a national disaster, highlighting the direct impact it has had on thousands of people.

At the rally, the former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader criticized the Education Cabinet Secretary for his late-night orders prohibiting the reopening of schools.

Raila accused the Education CS of neglecting his responsibilities, stating that Machogu’s delayed directive had adversely affected numerous students.

“They said schools would reopen but they waited until the last minute after students have travelled to school and released a statement blocking the reopening of schools,” the ODM leader commented. More
