Former president Uhuru Kenyatta break silence on floods, donates millions on these people!

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has broken his silence on the on going floods in the country, he further expressed sorrow over the loss of lives of Kenyans in the floods.

In a statement released on Monday, he extended his condolences to the flood victims, conveying his thoughts and prayers to those affected.

“The relentless rainfall has caused significant damage, displacing families, destroying infrastructure, and claiming precious lives.

“During this time of profound loss and despair, my thoughts and prayers are with the affected communities as they cope with the aftermath of this natural disaster,” said the former Head of State.

Additionally, the former President announced a personal contribution of Ksh2 million to the Kenya Red Cross Society.

This donation aims to support the organization’s efforts in providing relief to those affected by the devastating floods across the country.

Moreover, he appealed to volunteer medical professionals and healthcare providers to offer their services, recognizing the strain caused by the ongoing doctors’ strike.

The President reiterated the importance of national unity in standing alongside the flood victims and those impacted by the calamity.

He emphasized the significance of collective support during such trying times, underscoring the need for solidarity and assistance to alleviate the suffering caused by the floods.

“As a nation, we must stand together in the face of adversity, demonstrating compassion, resilience, and solidarity with one another”, he noted.

In addition, he urged all Kenyans to prioritize their safety by exercising caution, refraining from crossing flooded areas, and seeking higher ground when faced with imminent danger.

Uhuru’s compassionate act follows a heartbreaking incident in Mai Mahiu, where over 40 lives were tragically lost.

According to reports, a blocked tunnel in Kijabe burst in the early hours of the morning, resulting in severe flooding in the village.

As of the time of reporting, over 70 individuals remain unaccounted for, feared to have been buried under the rubble. More
