Revealed: Why court stopped IEBC from summoning Sabina Chege after vote rigging claim!

Murang’a women representative Sabina Chege has been handed a big boost after court quashed her summons by IEBC over vote rigging claims.

According to justice Anthony Mrima’s ruling , IEBC code of conduct does not apply to Sabina Chege yet as a candidature In the forthcoming general elections have not been determined.

“The code of conduct does not apply as candidates have not yet been determined and subscribed to it. IEBC committee does not have jurisdiction to issue summons. The committee lacks jurisdiction to issue the summons to the petitioner” Mrima ruled.

The ruling comes few weeks after the Murang’a legislator made some remarks in Vihiga during Azimio la Umoja rally saying if they managed to rig in 2017 what would stop them from rigging again.

“Saa zile nilisema baba ni peoples project na tukaambia watu wafanye regisatrion, ili wahakikishe Baba atakua State House, IEBC ikaanza kisirani.

“Leo Koti imeamua waachane na mimi wachunge Kura. Tumshuku mungu”Sabina said during a rally in turkana. More
