ODM party leader and former prime minister Raila Odinga has been forced to break his silence and address burning issues about one of his own taking a mega U-turn.
Since Kakamega county governor Wycliff Ambetsa Oparanya met with DP William Ruto, ODM has been on the panic mode.
Many have speculated that, the ODM deputy party leader has decided to follow the ‘winning team’ by joining Ruto’s hustler movement.
To clear the air, the son of the first vice president of Kenya spoke via his party and said that everything is okay and there is no need to panic.
Via their social media account, the party said, “The ODM Deputy Party Leader H.E. Hon. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, the governor of Kakamega County is a loyal member of the party and an ardent supporter of his boss, Party Leader H.E. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga”.
The opposition party admitted that, Governor Oparanya has been meeting with DP Ruto. They however said Raila is aware of all Ruto, Oparanya meetups.
“Hon. Oparanya has been briefing our ODM party Leadership including the Party Leader on every detail of his discussion with Hon. Ruto,” ODM confirmed.
Raila’s party continued to say that the main reason why Oparanya met with Ruto was to learn some political tactics that will benefit the ODM party.
“Hon. Oparanya has not been on any mission of BETRAYAL as some people may want it to look. Sometimes in politics, it is good to learn what your opponent is plotting and be able to get the best defense to counter them,” said ODM.
The ODM party concluded by urging their members not to read any rumor concerning the meeting between Oparanya and Ruto.
“Our ODM members and supporters should therefore not read any mischief in the said meetings that our DPL has held with the DP,” they said. More
