Kenyans have been shocked after hearing that, United states of American government has issued warnings to it’s citizens, who are travelling or planning to travel to Kenya.
This comes as Kenya struggle with the third wave of the Coronavirus malaise that is almost bringing the whole country into standstill.
In a statement shared on US department of state on Thursday, 7th April 2021, The government cautioned US citizens over rising Covid-19 case in Kenya, ranking the country at level 4.
Apart from Coronavirus scare, America highlighted things such as terrorism and crime as major issues affecting Kenyans.
“Do not travel to Kenya due to Covid-19. Exercise increased caution in Kenya due to crime, terrorism, health issues, and kidnapping.
“The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for Kenya due to COVID-19,” read the statement in part.
The most affected areas according to the statement include Kenya-Somalia border, Turkana and some coastal areas over crime and terrorism.
Nairobi’s Eastleigh and Kibera were listed as crime and kidnaping red zones.
“Be especially careful when traveling after dark anywhere in Kenya due to crime.
“Violent crime, such as armed carjacking, mugging, home invasion, and kidnapping, can occur at any time,” the statement continued.
“Due to terrorism concerns, U.S. government personnel are prohibited from traveling to the Kenya-Somalia border counties and some coastal areas,” the statement added. More
