Mother hacks son’s head for refusing to breastfeed!

Grief and sorrow has engulfed residents of Ndhiwa, Homa bay county after a mother beheaded his one year old son for allegedly refusing to breastfeed.

23 years old Night Akoth Atieno is said to have beheaded her son using a panga on Saturday night at around 9pm

The cruel incident occurred when the victim’s father was away from home.

According to konyago sub- location assistant chief Gabriel Nyatame, the accused suffers from mental disorder.

“She was angered when her third born son refused to breastfeed after making several attempts,” he told a local radio station.

The administrator noted that, Akoth took a sharp panga and chopped off her son’s head inside their house.

Residents who rushed to the scene tied her with a rope before they alerted the area administration officer and filed a report at Ndhiwa Police Station.

Upon the interrogation, Nyatame indicated that the woman confessed she did the abominable after his dead son refused to breastfeed several times.

The woman is detained at Ndhiwa police station while the remains of her son was taken to Manyatta Kobodo mortuary. More
