Kenyans wanted to know why the Catholic leader decided to leave his office and speculations have already started circulating as people try to guess the main course.

Rumors say that, John Njue has a daughter who is already aged and that he resigned so that he can concentrate on his early family.

Njue has served in the position since 2007, which is 14 years up to date. After the resignation however, he will retain the title of Cardinal.

Pope Francis accepted Njue’s resignations and he even approved it. This is because he had attained the mandatory retirement age of 75 as stipulated by Catholic Church’s Canon 401 in the Code of Canon Law.
