The Council of Governors Chairman H.E Dr Wycliffe Oparanya has asked the striking health workers to call off their strike and resume duties.
He said it is unfair for the doctors and nurses to go on strike when the Country is facing hard economic times caused by Covid-19.
Speaking during a County Covid-19 Social Economic Re-engineering Recovery Strategy for 2020/2021-2022/2023 meeting at a Kakamega hotel , the Governor insisted that some of the demands being pushed by medics cannot be handled by the County Governments.
He said the post Covid-19 economic recovery strategy will help the Counties focus on sectors that were worse hit by the pandemic.
The three-year strategy also focuses on resource mobilization and sources of funding to enable Counties recover from the effects of Covid-19.
The strategy which was launched by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta early this month was developed by the Council of Governors with support from development partners. Video
