Speaking during the Jamhuri day celebrations on 12th December 2020 at Nyayo stadium, Deputy president William Ruto highlighted number of issues that need to be addressed as soon as possible.
Ruto stated that, health care, Education and small, medium enterprises (SMEs) have been gravely affected since the corona outbreak hit Kenya in April this year (2020).
He noted that the 57th Jamhuri day celebrations took place under a unique and unprecedented circumstances that have affected the political ,social and economic status.

“This issue is unprecedented and it calls on all of us to have a unity of purpose, thought and plan.
We are confident that as you lead the charge to confront the challenge like our forefathers confronted the might of colonialism, we too will overcome this challenge because we believe in your leadership.
Your excellency you have the prayers of millions of Kenyans as you lead this nation during these very difficult times,” the DP stated
DP Ruto sympathized with numerous families that have lost their loved ones and those that have faced health challenges throughout the year.
