Embakasi east member of parliament and Raila’s number one ally Babu Owino has been released on a cash bail.
The Embakasi law maker was on Friday, July 21st arraigned at Milimani Law Courts where a ruling on bail was issued.
The judge declined to detain Babu Owino for more days saying that the prosecution failed to prove how Babu will interfere with witnesses if released.
He was released on a cash bail of KSH 100,000 and an alternative of a Sh200,000 bond.
“A look at the affidavit does not disclose compelling reasons to deny the accused person bond, each of the accused persons is granted a bond of KSh 200,000 with an alternative cash bail of KSh 100,000,” Milimani chief magistrate Lukas Onyina ruled.
He was released alongside ardent ODM leader Raila Odinga’s supporter Calvin Okoth alias Gaucho. Gaucho was also charged with the same offence as that of Babu. More
