Revealed: Why the government has launched mass vaccination of all young girls in Kenya
|Kenyan government, via the ministry of health has launched mass vaccination of all young girls aged between 10 to 14 years.

Addressing members of the press of on Saturday, 28th of January 2023, Health Cabinet secretary Susan Nakhumicha said that the move will see 90% of young girls vaccinated.
According to Nakhumicha, the vaccine will will enhance their chances of not contracting cervical cancer adding that Ruto has partnered with various organizations to reduce the number of women that contracts cervical cancer in Kenya.
“I appeal to all healthcare service providers to join us in this cause,” said Nakhumicha.
The CS said that the government has already put mechanicals in place to make sure all women will be taken care of in all cancer treatment centres.
“The Ministry of Health will continue to work with counties and all partners to eliminate cervical cancer in Kenya.
“To stop cervical cancer, we all have a role to play. All women should get screened regularly, girls can be vaccinated from 10 to 14 yrs,” she said.
Susan also urged all husbands to support their wives, sisters and daughters into taking cancer screenings as early as possible.
“Men should support their wives, mothers, sisters, granddaughters, grandmothers and daughters to get regular check-ups,” she added. More
