Sossion latest message to Matiang’i about universities shocks Ruto!
|Wilson Sossion, former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Sectary General has taken a swipe at former Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i.

Addressing members of the press on Wednesday, 25th of January 2023, Sossion blamed Matiang’i for the current situations at the universities.
According to the outspoken leader, during Matiang’i’s tenure as super CS, he put in place policies that lowered the transition of students to university.
Sossion said that, Matiang’i’s tough policies meant that self sponsored students who could not join to public universities went to other private institutions.
“Matiangi restricted the transition of form fours to university to 10 percent of the candidature.
“That brought an end to module two, which consisted of self-sponsored students who would pay the full amount of fees for their education,” Sossion stated.
The leader said that, due to reduced number of self sponsored students in government universities, the institutions lucked funding leading to huge debt.
“The move to accommodate self-sponsored students funded the universities. That is how funds are generated all over the world,” he said. More
