Revealed: Inside Ruto’s closed door meeting with France president Emmanuel Macron

President William Ruto, during his official tour in France held bilateral talks with his counterpart, French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

The head of state, according to state House Kenya’s statement on social media, his meeting with Macron centered on matters strengthening trade ties between the two countries for the benefits of it’s citizens.

The two heads of states recognized the existence of strong ties between Kenya and France and committed to adopt measures to diversifying and harnessed existing business opportunities.

Kenya and France also agreed to enhance their cooperation in developmental projects.

“This has manifested through sustained cooperation in areas of trade, energy, health, water, infrastructure, and agriculture, among others,” Kenya’s Ruto stated.

Ruto also used the opportunity to discus matters security between East African Countries as well as Central Africa.

The head of state also held a meeting with French business community.

“In a meeting between President William Ruto and Emmanuel Macron at Elysee Palace in Paris on Tuesday, the two leaders admitted to further cooperation in peace and security in the East African region,” state house statement read.

State house Kenya also said that Ruto used the opportunity to push trade and investment between the two countries in order to boost Kenya’s international trade. More
