Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) has finally responded to Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza and her husband, the first Gentleman Murega Baicu.

This is after they asked for the commission’s help following the outgoing tussles between the county leaders and members of County Assembly (MCAs).

In a statement on Saturday, 29th of October 2022, EACC accused Murega Baicu and Mwangaza of cloud chasing adding that their mission is to deviate from allegations levelled against them.

According to EACC, the couple’s subject leader focused on allegations of conflict of interest, nepotism and abuse of office, distanced itself from personal issues raised by the couple.

“The strange issues raised in the press conference were neither raised by the Commission nor were they part of the contents of its letter to the governor. Such are not matters that concern the commission,” EACC statement read in part.

EACC also appealed to members of the public not to buy the sideshows from the governor and her husband adding that they did not block Baichu from ridding on Kawira’s official car neither did they block him from accessing official residence.

“The commission takes great exception to the strange averments ensuing from the press conference alluding to alleged directives regarding the use, or otherwise, of the governor’s official vehicles and residence by her spouse.” the commission maintained. More
