Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary-general Francis Atwoli has send congratulatory message to president elect William Ruto after supreme court upheld his win.
Atwoli, who is an ardent ally of Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga, had earlier predicted that Willian Ruto will never be the president of Kenya or neither be close to the ballot box on just concluded general 9 polls.
On Monday, September 5th, the seven apex court judges unanimously dismissed the petition that had been filed by former prime minister Raila Odinga, among others, who challenged Ruto’s victory.
After the ruling, the COTU boss took to his twitter and congratulate the United Democratic Alliance party leader president-elect William Ruto.
“During COTU (K) Executive Board meeting on 17th August, we resolved THAT immediately after the Supreme Court judgement, we must thank and congratulate the victor.
“Consequently, we congratulate President William Ruto. We appeal to workers and Kenyans in general to remain peaceful,” said Atwoli. More
