On Sunday, Azimio la Umoja executive director and former Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju decided to clear the air after was exposed of trying to bribe IEBC to rule in favour of Raila Odinga.
The former News caster, who is now a very big supporter of Raila Odinga agreed to Wafula Chebukati’s accusations that they met while the tallying process was going on.
According to Tuju, he met Chebukati and team at 4am and not 3am, adding that he had tried many times to seek the commissioners’ audience to no avail.
“I’m drawn to the Supreme Court case which is ongoing. I would like to admit that I was at Bomas of Kenya on several occasions.
“For the 3am meeting, I’d like to correct them a little bit because it seems they have selective amnesia. It was at 4am.
“I did try, on several occasions, to get an audience with IEBC commissioners and in particular Chebukati. This is because Guliye wasn’t able to handle the concerns I had raised with him.
Earlier, Chebukati had claimed that Tuju had promised to tip them big if they made Raila the president elect instead of William Ruto.
The fact that Raphael accepted that he had a secret meeting with Chebukati it means that there is some truth in Wafula’s accusations and it will be used against Raila in supreme court. More
