Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has broken his silence after reports emerged that he was joining Kenya Kwanza faction led by president elect William Ruto.
The speculation which has spread since Friday indicates that the former vice president would be joining Kenya kwanza.
Addressing the rumours on Sunday 21st August 2022, Kalonzo dismissed the report saying Azimio was going to challenge Ruto’s win at the supreme court.
“Those saying that I’m joining Kenya Kwanza are wishful thinkers, we are going to pursue them at the Supreme Court,” he told reporters after attending a church service in Nairobi.
The Azimio la Umoja coalition led by Raila Odinga is set to challenge President elect William Ruto at the supreme court.
Odinga rejected the presidential results immediately after IEBC chair person Wafula Chebukati declared William Ruto the president-elect saying justices must prevail.
“Chebukati did not entertain any discussions of the results, we know what happened next. Our view in Azimio is clear; the figures announced by Chebukati are null and void and must be quashed by a court of law. He acted with gross impunity and total disregard,” said Raila.
The electoral body’s legal team will be led by former Attorney General Justice Githu Muigai. More
