Former Nairobi governor suffered a big blow after the supreme court read its final verdict over his impeachment.
A seven- judge bench constituted to listen to the former Nairobi boss’s appeal ruled that his impeachment proceedings in the Nairobi county assembly and the senate were conducted in adherence to the law.
“From the record and submissions before this Court, we come to the irresistible conclusion that the impeachment of the appellant was in compliance with the Constitution and the law. We, therefore, find no merit in the Petition of Appeal,” the judges ruled in a joint verdict.
The Ruling now complicates his Mombasa gubernatorial bid. More to follow
