Exposed: Why Ruto chose Rigathi instead of Kindiki to be his running mate!

DP William Ruto on Sunday, 15th of May 2022 named Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate.

Ruto’s choice left many appalled as many Kenyans were expecting him to choose Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki because of his wisdom, collectiveness and humility.

Speaking via an interview on Inooro TV on Sunday night, Rigathi explained why Ruto settled on him despite almost all the 30 members of parliament that were in the Karen meeting rallying behind Kindiki.

According to Rigathi, Ruto made 330 calls during to different people from different parts of the country, asked them who they would prefer between Kindiki and Rigathi.

Reports has it that, out of 30 members that were in the meeting, 22 had concluded on Kithure Kindiki and they were equally shocked to hear DP Ruto’s last choice.

Ruto wanted a person bold enough to challenge him and defend Mount Kenya accordingly. The boldness and fearlessness of Rigathi made Ruto make his last choice.

“Those who want a soft person don’t wish well for us. Suppose we pick a timid person to represent us and then they are scared away, what happens to our people? We need someone who is brave and can remove his claws to represent the people’s interests,” Rigathi said on Inooro TV. More
