This is after one of their biggest ally defected from Azimio to Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka, has joined Dp William Ruto’s led political faction, Kenya kwanza after months of dilema over his political future.
Lusaka, who joined DP Ruto’s ally in a political rally in bungoma county on 11th Friday march 2022 officially announced that he would contest for the Bungoma county gubernatorial seat through the alliance.
Lusaka, whose candidature for the speaker’s position was sponsored by jubilee party pointed out that he had decided to join Bungoma politics after Five years.
While popularizing the bottom up economic model, Lusaka promised to bring similar initiative back to the county.
“When I was the governor, we had an initiative known as the trade loan that was meant to help small businesses that are in the county. When I get back I will ensure that we bring it back,” he stated.
Although it’s not yet clear which party he will use to contest for the seat in the August 9 polls, report indicates that he will officially join Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya party in coming weeks.
In 2017 the two had a bitter rivalry as Wetangula supported the current Bungoma Governor, Wycliffe Wangamati, who won in the 2017 gubernatorial race. More
