Controversial Bishop and businessman David Kariuki Ngari popularly known as Bishop Gakuyo has finally bowed to pressure and apologized for hateful statement that he allegedly lashed on women last week.
The Bishop who was reported to have made a scathing remarks against former Thika town member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a has finally apologized.
Kaguyo had maintained that he will not apologize, insisting that the statement he made was directed to a poorly dressed Kiambu nominated MCA.
The apology was issued after a major protest in Thika town organized by women leaders under the umbrella of Women Kenya parliamentary association(KEWOPA).
The thika Parliamentary seat aspirant was summoned by thika DCI offices where he recorded statement and further apologized to women and anyone who felt injured by his remarks, saying that he never meant to profile women.
“I feel very sorry for anyone who felt hurt by the remarks I made. I never meant to profile anybody and Thika is a cosmopolitan area where anyone is free to seek elective positions,” he stated.
According to thika sub-county police commander Daniel Kinyua, Kaguyo is accused of using an abusive language against Emma Wanjiku the kiambu nominated MCA during a meeting attended by Kiambu governor James Nyoro. More
