Uganda President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was almost dragged into matter where DP William Ruto was blocked at the Wilson airport on 2nd of August 2021.
To clear the air, Uganda government via the ministry of state for foreign affairs issued a statement on the matters concerning DP William Ruto’s aborted trip.
Henry Okello Oryem, Uganda’s minister for state of foreign affairs held a presser on Wednesday afternoon, 4th of August 2021 at the Uganda Media centre that is in Kampala town.
Okello said that, Museveni’s government did not have anything to do with Kenyan government affairs adding that Ruto’s trip was solemnly on private grounds.
Uganda also said that they have no idea as to why DP Ruto’s trip to the country was cancelled and why he was being asked for unnecessary documents at the airport.
“To my best of knowledge, the protocol department led by the Chief of Protocol has no record whatsoever of any request to provide services to his Excellency Ruto,” the minister responded to a journalist’s question.
The minister made it clear that, Kenya high commission did not inform Uganda of Ruto’s visit and that the two countries did not regard it as official visit. More
